Troop "B" was established in 1921 with Headquarters at Malone, NY. The first Troop Commander was Charles J. Broadfield assisted by Lieutenant Walter Croasdale. The area of responsibility was all of the northern area of the state to the Candian border.

Maxwell H. Brayton enlisted 1921 retiring in 1953 as Troop "B" F/Sgt.
He was identified by Retired SC Cash Phillips whose wife is Braytons grand-daughter and brother, retired SI Max Hunt is his grandson.
